August is about Youth Empowerment
Created by
Empowering youth is not just about giving them a voice; it's about nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. By investing in their potential, we're not only shaping a brighter future but also cultivating a generation equipped with the skills, confidence, and drive to tackle the world's most pressing challenges head-on. From fostering innovation and diversity to promoting social justice and sustainability, empowering youth is essential for building a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous world for all.
Classroom question of the month:
What do you think is unfair in the world? How would you change it?
Let’s practise!
Learn how to talk about social justice issues with family and friends.
Class Activity 1: 20 min
Action Challenge: Rebooting social justice through conversation
Task: Voicing your concerns
- Step 1: Find an organisation or person who is campaigning about one or more of the social justice issues that interest you.
- Step 2: Pick at least two friends or family members to tell about what they are campaigning about, why it’s important, and how they can be supported.
- Note: Encourage your listeners to practise deep listening, which means listening to your presentation without interrupting or speaking, for the duration of the exercise.
- Step 3: Discuss together at the end how sharing something you care about with them made you feel, and how the deep listening influenced the outcome of the exercise.
