Created by
Ecuador needs to exploit the Amazon's resources to develop. Leaving it untouched is not an option. This DVD looks at the challenges of achieving sustainable management in the Amazon rainforest. It explores the political and economic factors that contribute to sustainable management and the role of businesses, governments, indigenous communities and NGOs. Examples include eco-tourism, bio-reserves and conservation, community projects and sustainable agriculture.
As well as the 24-minute film, there are extensive teachers’ notes and student activities. The resource links in with many English exam board specifications; for further details, visit the Pumpkin Interactive website.
