This 4-part lesson by the Jewish Women’s Archive gives an excellent introduction to unions and strikes using the context of Jewish workers in early 20th Century New York. Students will learn:
- the realities of working conditions in garment factories.
- the experiences of labour union members and factory owners.
- the strategies and reasons why both workers and factory owners organised to reach their goals.
