Remembering Srebrenica Primary Resources
Created by
These resources have been produced by the charity Remembering Srebrenica, which raises awareness of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide in Bosnia-Herzegovina. They consist of a set of 'similarities and differences' workshop plans; and a whole-school primary assembly pack.
Similarities and Differences Workshops:
Contains age-appropriate workshops for Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and upper Key Stage 2. These workshops focus on the lessons that can be learnt from Srebrenica – the importance and value of diversity within our community.
Whole School Assembly Pack:
This has been developed for use around the time of the EU-wide Srebrenica Memorial Day on 11 July. Based on the story Gleam and Glow by Eve Bunting, this assembly tells the story of Viktor, a young Bosnian boy forced to leave his home during the war. The assembly looks at the concept of difference within our community, encouraging children to embrace diversity.
