Moja Island
Created by
Moja Island is a discussion-based 1-2 hour activity from Practical Action which will reinforce students' understanding of renewable energy sources.
Students consider the variety of different options available to communities living on Moja Island and select the most appropriate technology. Renewable energy fact cards, a map of the island, and information on the different communities and their needs are all resources designed to help them. Scene-setting is provided in a PowerPoint presentation.
This explains how access to electricity is often difficult for people living in poorer countries, especially those in remote or island-based communities. It shows ways in which Practical Action is working to provide energy access to these communities.
