Let's Act! SDG Learning Platform
Created by
Created by Mundu this online learning platform aims to educate KS3 and 4 students on climate change and the SDGs.
Knowledge and understanding of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 global goals is still insufficient among young people, and so is the awareness of the duties and responsibilities that are implied by them. Schools and teachers need proper tools and skills to teach students how to take action in this regard.
Environmental and climate change are essential to sustainable development and they can also be applied to many subjects that are part of the national curriculum in most countries; however only a few teachers are fully equipped to teach the complexity of such topics - this platform aims to help!
This platform can be used as an online interactive lesson for students, as teaching materials or print outs. Complete with a full guide for teachers, there are a huge variety of lessons here that cover the main themes of the SDGs such as:
1) The road to agenda 2030
Learn about how the 2030 Agenda invites everyone to take action and contribute towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
2) Our planet at risk
Explore why the planet is becoming less inhabitable. Learn about what has made the Earth particularly suitable for human development over the past 10-12.000 years.
3) Energy at the core of the problem and the solution
Examine energy consumption a little closer. Energy consumption is in fact responsible for three-quarters of our GHG emissions.
4) Food production - the other side of the coin
Learn about the other one-quarter of GHG emissions, which primarily come from our food production, and what we can do to reduce these.
5) A World of Opportunities
Examine and learn about which sectors of society are responsible for what part of the reorganisation.
