Crisis in Yemen
Yemen is in the middle of a bloody conflict which is leading to hunger, displacement and civilian deaths. Twenty-one million people are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.
This resource supports learners aged 11-18 in thinking critically about this highly complex situation and the human impact of the war. It provides an insight into life in Yemen and encourages learners to consider the UK's controversial role in providing aid to Yemen whilst simultaneously selling weapons to Saudi Arabia, a country involved in the conflict.
It provides advice on how learners can take action on what they’ve learned by writing a persuasive letter to their MP, or by organising a fundraising appeal for Yemen.
